Welcome!

Welcome to the Committee for the Future of Damascus' (CFD) website!

Here you will learn about Damascus' history, its present challenges and possibilities for the future. The CFD is a 501c3, non-profit organization composed of local citizens of Damascus whose goal is to study the feasibility of how Damascus should be governed in the future.

The main question before the Committee is, is it best for Damascus to be governed in part by Happy Valley and Gresham, or should Damascus form its own city? Answering such questions requires understanding what services Damascus residents desire and who the community wants making the decisions on how they will be provided. Understanding this will help the CFD represent how residents want to address the challenges of the future.

To do this effectively we need your involvement. We want to listen to what you have to say. One of the CFD's major tasks involves public outreach. Through public outreach programs we hope to learn what you have to say. We also want to be a source of education about expansion of the Urban Growth Boundary, or UGB, and what affect it may have on Damascus and its residents.

What can you do? Let us hear from you!
